Officiate Louisiana/NASO Summit Event

• Sessions will be held for all 7 LHSOA sports on Friday evening, July 27 where all officials attending will be granted both a Rules Clinic credit and a qualifying “certified rating” test score
• Friday sessions will be one hour in length and will be repeated once on Friday giving dual sports officials the opportunity to secure Clinic credit and test credit for TWO sports
• Friday sessions will be repeated on Sunday morning; officials can choose to attend on either Friday or Sunday or both; repeating Friday sessions on Sunday will offer officials another option to get their Clinic and test credit plus it will give multiple sports officials the opportunity to get their Rules Clinic and test credits for additional sports (2 sessions on Friday + 2 on Sunday means an official has the option to get Rules Clinic and test credit for up to 4 sports)
• Saturday will be Officiate Louisiana Day; it will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4:45 p.m. and will be a day of training that will include outstanding speakers who have achieved officiating success at the highest levels of sport; individual sport breakout sessions will be included
• Attendees at the Saturday session will receive credit for an officiating camp for ALL sports he/she officiates; this will be the standard 2-year credit officials get for attending an officiating camp covering the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 sports seasons (see the note below for credit to be awarded baseball and softball umpires “pre-certified for the 2018 seasons”)
• Officials must attend one session on either Friday or Sunday AND the Saturday session in order to receive any of the Rules, Test or Camp credits noted above; no credit will be given to officials who attend only Friday or Sunday, or only Saturday
• A light breakfast and lunch will be served at the Saturday session; admission includes both of these meals
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday sessions will be at the Marriott Hotel, downtown N.O. at 555 Canal St.
• Due to the costs associated with meeting space and food service, NO WALK UP ATTENDANCE WILL BE ALLOWED

Details Yet to be Finalized:

• Friday sessions are expected to begin at 6:00 p.m. and repeated at 7:15 p.m.; Sunday sessions are expected to begin at 9:00 a.m. and repeated at 10:15 a.m., but the Friday and Sunday times are not yet firm.
• Location and details of the Friday cocktail hour and Saturday’s cocktail reception are still in process.

Note:  Umpires who receive “pre-certification” in Spring 2018 for officiating camps and then attend Officiate Louisiana will get camp credit for the 2018 and 2019 umpiring seasons.
